The Kill Signal

Seven years ago in Beirut, CIA officer Cole Hardin moved a meeting, and his agents died for it. The board blamed him. So did he.

Now he's parked at a desk in Tallinn, Estonia, near the Russian border, when a stranger presses an envelope into his hand: pages from his own agency's files and one typed line. You did not send it.

Langley sees an opening. Cole becomes bait, feeding doctored secrets to a frightened Russian intelligence officer. But the secrets don't add up. Someone on his own side is passing along real ones, and a NATO source inside Russia's Baltic Fleet is running out of time.

Watched by Russian counterintelligence and doubted by his own service, Cole has one winter night to bring the Russian's daughter across a frozen border lake under Russian guns.
